On this week’s The Spill: A special discussion with author Caroline Foran

Have you ever had one of those days that screamed for a wine and chats sesh with your girlfriends?  Enter Image.ie’s podcast, The Spill.

The Spill is hosted by our very own self-proclaimed agony aunts Sophie White and Rhona McAuliffe. With a mix of discussion on current affairs, arts and culture and some healthy advice to our listeners, it’s the best place to unwind and deliberate the issues affecting Irish women today.

This week’s episode sees our hosts doing something a bit different. For the first time ever, The Spill hosts a special guest and we couldn’t be happier with the woman they’ve chosen. Caroline Foran is a best-selling author, whose first book Owning It – Your Bullshit-Free Guide to Living With Anxiety struck a chord with thousands of young Irish people who had been silently struggling with anxiety and mental health issues. On the show, Caroline discusses what lead to her own attacks of anxiety, which, while incredibly difficult, inspired her to push past the unrelatable advice she was getting, and provide a more practical and accessible way to deal with anxiety for others. Our three women discuss their own issues with anxiety and self-esteem issues and how women tend to deal with these problems when they arise.

As her brand new book The Confidence Kit – Your Bullshit-Free Guide to Owning Your Fear hits the shelves, the hosts discuss how confidence can be achieved by women with lower self-esteem. Caroline shares her insight into reclaiming your fear, and how sometimes, imagining the worst-case scenario and battling through it can be the key to making it out the other side. The women discuss how we’ve been conditioned against negative thinking, but how being realistic about your situation can equip you to deal with it effectively.
