5 delicious vegan-friendly spots to try for a Sunday brunch in Dublin

Veganism isn't a new way of life, but it is having a moment in that, happily, it's getting spoken about frequently. We are more health-conscious than ever before and that means we are all extremely aware of not only the food we're putting into our bodies, but the effects that eating particular foods have on the environment, as well as our general wellbeing. On that note, we've rounded up five of our favourite vegan/veggie-friendly spots in Dublin worth trying this weekend. The best bit? Chances are, even if you're not of the vegan way of life, you'll find something on the menu to love.

Signature dishes include a Sloppy Joe Burger, truly tasty falafel and their famed Vegan ‘Fish and Chips'. Happy Food serves breakfast and lunch Monday to Friday and brunch on Saturday. One word: Yum.

Yes, it's unashamedly hipster, but such is the quality of food on offer at this spot, you'll almost always find a queue out the door. There’s plenty on offer for vegetarians and vegans here, as well as those that aren't. Their signature Fumbally Eggs are worth getting out of bed for, a falafel that will go down a treat for lunch is there to tempt and there's always a daily vegetarian offering to munch on. And yes, they boast an ever-changing array of flavoursome salads. Trust us, you'll be back for seconds.

Located on Exchequer Street, Fallon & Byrne do a special vegan menu worth a visit alone, with two starters, two mains and two desserts. It includes a delicious roasted pumpkin and quinoa for a main and a divine plum and apple crumble for dessert. Worth a taste even if you're not a vegan, tbh.

Veginity

This award-winning, plant-based cafe only opened its permanent restaurant quarters this July, located on Upper Dorset Street. Here, vegans and non-vegans alike have popped their veginity (we know, sorry) with its array of imaginative, quirky and ever-changing dishes. Their marinated tofu burger with wasbai mayo and plant-based ‘Fish and Chips’ were two dishes that went down a storm, back when they were operating from a food truck inside a warehouse on Richmond street South and at Eatyard.

Despite its name, this entirely vegetarian cafe, located within the humble surrounds of The Dublin Food Co-op, is open Wednesday to Sunday. You'll find a menu made with local, organic ingredients and they always have vegan soup, mains and cakes on offer too. The food is tasty, hearty and made for weekend brunching.
