Michelle Obamas DNC Speech Will Go Down In History

Michelle Obamas DNC Speech Will Go Down In History

At last,?through all the false accusations and propaganda associated with the debacle?of the Trump administration, here’s a real antidote – not from a political high-horse – but from a mother. First Lady Michelle Obama delivered a powerful and honest 15-minute speech to large crowds at the Democratic national convention last night; incinerating ?Trump without even mentioning his name.

After eight long years at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, this would mark the final time that this victorious woman would address the nation as First Lady, and boy did she leave a memorable impression. Her message was clear: whoever the next leader of the United States would be, that person needs to shape and nurture the lives of every child in America. Speaking beautifully about their children, Michelle reflected on the tough decisions that she and Barack made as parents while living in The White House, and how every decision they made would inevitably impact their daughters:

“I will never forget that winter morning as I watched our girls, just 7 and 10 years old, pile into those black SUVs with all those men with guns. And that’s all their little faces pressed up against the window, and the only thing I could think was, What have we done? At that moment, I realised that our time in the White House would form the foundation of who they would become. And how well we manage this experience could truly make or break them.?Make no mistake about it, this November, when we get to the polls, that is what we are deciding. Not Democrat or Republican, not left or right. In this election?and every election, it is about who will have the power to shape our children for the next four or eight years of their lives”

In perfect fashion, she was eloquent, stirring, and brutally honest. This was no ordinary address, though, but a plea to the American people to rise against the on-going sound of hatred, as well as an ode to Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton whom Obama believes is the most capable candidate for the job. She went on to say;

“What I admire most about Hillary is that she never buckles under pressure. I trust Hillary to lead this country because I have seen her lifelong devotion to our nation’s children. Not just her own daughter, who she has raised to perfection, but every child who needs a champion: kids who take the long way to school to avoid the gangs. Kids who wonder how they will ever afford college. Kids whose parents don’t speak a word of English, but dream of a better life; who look to us to dream of what they can be”

Before bowing out gracefully, Obama?urged the crowd of willing listeners to not conform to the?pressure of political indoctrination; undeniably referring to Trump:

“Don’t let anyone ever tell you that this country is not great. That somehow we need to make it great again. Because this right now is the greatest country on Earth”

Her speech will no doubt go down in history as one of the greatest. Watch her full address below.
