Keira Knightley Has Some Big News

The actress Keira Knightley has given birth. Keira announced her pregnancy last December in the midst of promoting The Imitation Game, the period drama for which she earned an Oscar nomination last Spring.

The Begin Again actress has been married to Klaxons musician James Righton since 2013, and this birth marks the couple's first child. They currently reside in a 5-bedroom house near Islington, after living in Spitalfields for a time. The move to Canonbury, where their €3.9 million house is located, is a recent one, with the couple only moving in recent months. According to the Metro, some of her neighbours have already seen her out and about in the area with the sure to be adorable baby.

Knightley's enjoyed a fairly low-profile pregnancy despite being busy with movie promotions in the past few months. Paparazzi shots have been few and far between, and Keira's red carpet wardrobe has tended towards the flowing and draping category. She's even opted for our own incredibly flattering Simone Rocha on some occasions. Needless to say, a naked baby bump magazine cover like Demi Moore was not on the cards for the English actress. We do have to say, however, that Keira did make us feel sorry for the first time in history for an Oscar attendee. She told Ellen in an interview that because of the growing human inside her belly, going wild at the awards ceremony bar was not an option.

Knightley and Righton have released a statement to calm all us victims of an overactive celebrity baby alert brain. They haven't released further details such as gender or a name. However, E! is convinced that if Knightly did indeed have a baby in recent days, it was most likely a girl, and various others have said this as well.. The actress dropped the female pronoun in interviews with the entertainment news site.

We hope Keira and James are having a lovely day today as new, most likely wrecked, parents.
