Take Me to Church Meets Ballet

Take Me to Church Meets Ballet

ballet dancer

Sergei Polunin, the bad boy of ballet, takes on Hozier’s smash hit song, and it turns out Taylor Swift might be romancing Ireland’s son.

Hozier’s Take Me to Church stormed the Grammys, thanks in a larger part to Annie Lennox being her extraordinary self and now ballet star Sergei Polunin?is bringing the anthem to the world’s attention yet again.

Ukrainian Polunin is known as the bad boy of ballet. Polunin is infamous for his stint with Britain’s Royal Ballet. The dancer left after becoming the youngest ever principal in the company. His moves and those distinctive tattoos, and self-inflicted scars, have featured in Marc Jacobs campaigns as well as fashion editorials around the world. He is open about his drug use and is keen to try acting.

The video is directed by photographer David LaChapelle and we don’t know who made the wardrobe decision on the flesh-coloured leggings, but fair play.

And in further Hozier news, it seems the singer is about to be taken, by the most high-profile of all the takers. Celebitchy.com is reporting that Taylor Swift is courting Hozier and that the two were cosy at Grammy after-parties, just days after attending a Haim concert together. They make a pretty couple, don’t they?
