Three houses to buy in Phibsborough for less than €500K

Three houses to buy in Phibsborough for less than €500K

Phibsborough is one of Dublin’s up-and-coming neighbourhoods, with bars and cafes regularly popping up to serve its growing community. Located in Dublin 7, it was once home to author James Joyce and former President of Ireland Éamon de Valera. Now, Phibsborough’s red-brick, Victorian houses are home to a new generation. Young professionals and families are moving in and setting up life-long homes; partly due to its many amenities and its close proximity to the city. Fancy calling it home? Here are three houses available to buy for less than €500,000.

1 St Peter’s Road, Phibsborough, Dublin 7 – €495,000

This redbrick period property on St Peter’s Road maintains many of its original features; including high ceilings, a bay window, ceiling coving and a central rose. With three bedrooms (two doubles and one single) it would make an ideal family home. The kitchen has an open plan design and is flooded with natural light from the French doors, connecting to the west-facing rear garden. Located just off the North Circular Road, the house is a short stroll from all the shops and cafes in Phibsborough. What’s more, it’s within walking distance of the city centre, Phoenix Park and the Botanic Gardens. Excellent transport links are available in the area too; including the Luas cross-city line, a range of Dublin Bus routes, as well as the Navan Road (N3), giving ease of access to the M50, M1, and Dublin Airport.

6 St Joseph’s Place, Dorset Street Upper, Dublin 7 – €325,000

Located at 6 St Joseph’s Place, this two-bedroom bungalow is deceptively spacious. The living room is bright; with varnished floorboards, a feature fireplace and stove. The kitchen-cum-diner has ample storage, solid wooden floors and access to the rear garden yard. Though small, the garden yard is south-facing and has convenient access to the street. The master bedroom is situated towards the front of the house, while a spacious single bedroom is located to the back. Both rooms have built-in wardrobes and a fitted sink. If you need public transport, the Broadstone/DIT Luas stop is on the doorstep and Dublin Bus routes 4, 9, 46a, and 38 are minutes from the house.

7 Grove Mews, Castle Terrace, Phibsborough, Dublin 7 – €395,000

Recently refurbished by its current owners, 7 Grove Mews is bright, spacious and modern. The three-bedroom, semi-detached house is double-fronted with a redbrick facade. Enter through the front hallway via the stain glass detail door, and pass through to the living room (which has been recently painted and has newly-laid carpet). The kitchen offers ample storage and a built-in wine rack, as well as a fitted oven and gas hob. Upstairs there are three bedrooms; two of which are double and all include fitted wardrobes and new carpet. Out back, there is a sunny garden with private parking and side door access.
