Three charming holiday homes available to rent in Dingle, Co Kerry

The new year is in full swing and the Christmas break is a distant memory. If, like us, you want something to look forward to this season, why not book an Irish getaway?

The Dingle Peninsula, which stretches for 48 kilometres and is dominated by mountains, steep cliffs and beaches, is a popular destination for Irish and international tourists alike. With many walking routes; beaches safe for swimming, and conditions suitable for surfing, there’s something to suit all the family.

The Boatyard House, €200 per night

Overlooking Dingle Marina, the Boatyard House is less than a five-minute walk from the centre of Dingle town. The property sleeps six people across three double bedrooms and is conveniently fitted with four bathrooms (three of which are ensuite).

Bed linen and towels are provided upon check-in, as well as access to free wifi. What’s more, there is private parking and a separate, private garden suitable for al fresco dining.

Tigh Thor, €145 per night

Located on the Dingle Peninsula, Tigh Thor is a stylish, modern house that can sleep up to nine people. There are five bedrooms in total; as well as three bathrooms and three reception rooms.

Entertainment options are plentiful here; with a flat-screen TV (including Sky channels), free wifi, a hi-fi system with separate DAB radio and Sonas surround sound, a DVD player with DVDs to choose from, and a selection of board games.

Not only that, the spacious kitchen-cum-dining room is the perfect spot to relax with family and friends over food.

The property is just a few minutes drive to Ventry Beach and Dingle town, while Burnham Woods offers wild walks and calming waters.

Wild Atlantic View, Dunquin, Dingle – €225 per week

Escape to nature with a stay in this charming, country house in the Dingle Peninsula. The stone walls and wooden beams give the place a rustic feel, yet it’s kitted out with all mod-cons.

Each of the four bedrooms has an ensuite, including a shower, sink and toilet. There is also a separate family bathroom with a large corner bath off the main hallway. Downstairs, the kitchen is fitted with a dishwasher, toaster, filter coffee maker, electric oven and hob, large fridge/freezer and microwave. A 50-inch TV with a wide range of satellite channels (including box office movies, documentaries, sports and music) is available to enjoy in the living room (perfect for rainy days).

Outside, a top of the range hot tub gives guests a chance to relax while overlooking the countryside. The house has unspoilt views of many islands, including the Blaskets, Slea Head and the Skelligs.
