Going to a show this week? This is where you need to go for dinner

There's nothing like an evening at the theatre to make you feel luxurious. The dressing up, the intimate atmosphere and the prospect of making an entire gorgeous evening out of the event. If you have a special night out planned, there's only one place in Dublin you should be heading to complete the experience; Glovers Alley at St. Stephen's Green.

A Pre-Theatre menu was recently unveiled at the luxury restaurant, which will be running on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 pm until 7 pm. The new fine-dining experience offers a lavish new option for theatre goers, or just for anyone looking for a luxurious way to spend an evening in the city.

The new menu consists of a choice of three starters, three main courses and two desserts, and will change regularly in accordance with what choice ingredients are available. Lucky diners can expect dishes such as violet artichoke with hazelnut, grapes & foie gras or jersey royals with bacon dashi, wild garlic & chicken skin to start, with main course dishes such as veal rump, beetroot, watercress, grape must & mustard, or pollock, carrot, grapefruit & bisque. Among the desserts, you can expect rhubarb, strawberry, white chocolate & lemon balm or nectarine, sheep’s yoghurt & raspberry.

The cost of the Pre-Theatre Menu is €35 for two courses or €45 for three courses.

The new Pre-Theatre Menu was designed by Dublin-born chef and operator of Glovers Alley, Andy McFadden. Speaking about his new creation, he said: “We want to offer our diners who come for early sittings during the week the same standard of excellence in food and comfort that we give to all of our guests at Glovers Alley while giving them the opportunity to enjoy the rest of their evening.”
