For a stylish and romantic country wedding, Ballintubbert House is the perfect venue

Searching for the perfect wedding venue? Look no further than Ballintubbert House

Summer wedding season is upon us, with much of the next three months taken up by the festivities. For engaged couples heading along to their friends’ and loved ones’ nuptials, this year will provide a lot of inspiration for their own weddings next summer — and while every detail about the big day is important, where you’ll have it should be top of your priorities.

A great wedding venue — somewhere that strikes the right balance of romance, fun, ease and luxury — is a godsend for couples looking to celebrate their special day with as little stress as possible. While Ireland is lucky to have so many fantastic locations for dream weddings around the country, we think there’s something particularly special about Ballintubbert House in Co Laois.

Just one hour from Dublin, Ballintubbert has a rich history in the heart of Laois. First built in 1725, the estate has been enjoyed by figures such as C. Day-Lewis, esteemed poet and father of actor Daniel Day-Lewis, actor Sebastian Shaw and actor Sir John Hurt. And now, Medley of Fleet Street, specialists in fine food and events in Dublin, have joined Ballintubbert’s story to bring their unique passion to the venue.

What’s more, Ballintubbert even offers weekday packages for budget-conscious couples, so you can plan the day you deserve without worry.

Still need convincing? Here’s why Ballintubbert House is the perfect venue for a dream summer wedding.

The ceremony

Ballintubbert has plenty of options to choose from to house your intimate ceremony before the celebrations. Choose from the pure and natural elegance of the Lutyens water garden, the classical beauty of the 16th Century church, or the romantic arboreal aisles of the orchard

Passing through the aromatic Rose Pergola, past the Potager and scented herb garden, our attentive staff await your guests with delicious canapes and refreshing celebratory drinks after the ceremony. No matter what your theme or feeling of the day, Ballintubbert has something to suit, hosting simply rustic, classic chic, bohemian hip and vintage style weddings. Guests can be accommodated in luxury rooms in a historic house and a beautiful garden venue with quirky accommodation and even glamping, so everyone is covered.

To eat

With an all-star team that has extensive experience in food and drink from around the globe, the Medley collaboration with Ballintubbert House will ensure that your guests will be blown away by the food at your wedding. With an exclusive tasting in Dublin ahead of your big day, you’ll be involved in the food process from start to finish with Medley, with an eclectic, adventurous and amazingly tasty menu waiting for you at the end of the day. Created by Medley’s Andrew Rudd and head chef Camila Aruk, the food, locally sourced in Laois, will be one of the highlights of the day.

The celebrations

After dinner, it’s time to let your hair down. Bring the outdoors inside with Ballintubberts signature circular marquee presiding over the Great Lawn, where guests can stroll through the fairytale settings of the old orchard to the heart of the party. Live music and the freedom to dance the night away awaits.

To sleep

One of the most stunning features of Ballintubbert House is where the night ends up. The couple can accommodate their family in the lavishly appointed manor house that dates to 1725. After the glowing embers of the campfire die out for the night, your guests can remain close by in their luxurious fully finished Yurts hidden around the grounds. There is also some further luxury accommodation to be found in the Garden Wing and School House on the grounds.
