Describing anywhere as an Asian-Scandinavian bar-restaurant-Kaf? is quite a mouthful. Luckily, S’der + Ko, the latest opening to grace Georges Street, is a delicious one that lives up to its buzzed about name. The brains behind the George, Howl at the Moon and Cafe en Seine have dreamed up a hoot of a hangout, offering Absolute cocktails, Irish craft beers and Asian nibbles all under one enormous roof.

The best part about the space is the sheer size, cleverly designed with distinctly different zones, (from a Nordic-inspired outdoor area to the cosy, hidden away Japanese decorated corner upstairs) making it fit for an all-day hangout.

It opens bright and early for pastries and coffees at 8am (that’ll be the Swedish side, then) and moves swiftly into weekend brunches of dim sum, raw salads, smoothies and French toasts. For every other type of feasting, the reasonably priced sharing plates of raw salads, dumpling dim sum, and Japanese classics like Teriyaki salmon, steamed rice pots and Kimchi steamed buns will have something for everyone.

Overall? S’der + Ko is a funny wish mash, but the verdict is a good one. Excellent Asian food, a slick space and a good-time vibe. It’ll keep us koming back for more.
