Explore beauty in all its forms this weekend with What’s On

Wintery showers and dropping temperatures — the only thing for it is a weekend of wonderful (indoor) things to do. From charity tattoos (much nicer than it sounds) to books to skincare to sustainability, there’s something for everyone in the city. Happy weekend from IMAGE!

Saturday: Get inked for Pieta House at the Be Kind event at the Ink Factory

Brave enough to get inked for charity? The Ink Factory is hosting a special event in their Dublin hub tomorrow in support of Pieta House — drop in and get a tattoo saying ‘be kind’ to promote mental health, or just donate €50 which will go straight to the charity. On all day until 6 pm.

All weekend: Lose yourself at the Dublin Book Festival

If you’re a book lover, with a particular grá for Irish literature, this weekend is the perfect four days to immerse yourself. The Dublin Book Festival stems out of Smock Alley Festival, and shines a light on the publishing industry in Ireland, and the community therein. Featuring workshops and Q+A’s with authors and publishers, it’s a great few days out.

On Saturday: Get info about all the skin conditions you may be dealing with at SkinSideOut at the Science Gallery

If you deal with any combination of atopic eczema, psoriasis, acne and rosacea (or all of the above), and want to find out more about dealing with it, this great event at the Science Gallery tomorrow is a winner. There are five panel discussions on throughout the course of the day, with dermatologists and patient advocates at each, so you know what you’ll be hearing is the right info — plus it’s a chance to meet other people that suffer with skin conditions and swap stories and remedies in a chilled atmosphere. Tickets are just a fiver.

On Saturday: Pick up some chic vintage wares at the very first Sustainable Fashion Dublin Flea Market

We love a good Sustainable Fashion Dublin event of a weekend, and this Saturday, there’s a very special one coming up — their very first monthly Flea Market. On in the Workman’s until 5pm, there will be amazing second-hand clothing available from some of the city’s best sellers, as well as loads of workshops on throughout the day too. The market itself is free, so pop in if you’re in town tomorrow.
