Weather Ireland: Don’t worry – the heatwave’s not over yet

There are many people relieved to see the grey clouds appearing once again over Ireland in the last few days. The drop of rain was certainly much needed. But is this the end of the long summer evenings al fresco and coatless journeys to the office? According to Met Eireann, not at all.

Tuesday 17th July

Tuesday will start bright and dry in most areas, with good sunny spells. But as the day goes on, showers will become widespread from the west. Highest temperatures will range 17 to 21 degrees.

Wednesday 18th July

Wednesday will be dry except for a few showers during the afternoon and evening. Good spells of sunshine through the day. Highs of 18 to 23 degrees and light breezes.

Thursday 19th July

By Thursday most parts of the country will be dry. There will be highs of 18 to 20 over Connacht and Ulster, 20 to 24 across Leinster and Munster.

Friday 20th July

Some showers will appear on Friday but most of the country will remain dry with mixed sunshine. Highs of 19 to 24 degrees.

Weekend
And just like that Ireland is mostly dry and getting warmer again. Highs of 21 to 27 degrees over the weekend
