Culture, fashion and plenty of art: here’s your What’s On guide for the weekend

This week in the What’s On world has been taken over by Heritage Week here in Dublin city, which still has some lovely events to finish up this weekend. The beloved People’s Art at Stephen’s Green is back too, along with a must-shop pop-up by city print-extraordinaires Jill & Gill. The weekend looks bright. Have a good one, from IMAGE!

Friday: Go on a spree at the Jill & Gill pop-up shop at the Hang Tough Gallery

Dublin-based print duo Jill & Gill are well-loved here at IMAGE.ie and if you’ve been lusting after their fresh and fabulous prints as much as we have, you’re in luck. This Friday night sees the pair open an exclusive pop-up at the Hang Tough Gallery on South Richmond Street, selling their exciting new range, which includes prints of icons like Kate Moss and Grace Jones.

This weekend: Take a leisurely walk past the People’s Art Exhibition at Stephen’s Green

One of the loveliest ways to spend a weekend in the city, the People’s Art surrounding St. Stephen’s Green is Ireland’s largest outdoor art exhibition. Thousands of paintings will be on sale to prospective buyers, but many just go to appreciate the culture, and maybe have a chat with the artists themselves. Here’s hoping the weather holds up, but either way, the rain makes it look prettier anyway.

Monday: Get personal with the founder of Humans of Dublin

Just over two years ago, Peter Varga, inspired by the world-famous Humans of New York website, started his own project on the streets of Dublin, chatting to residents and capturing their character in a single shot. Monday evening sees Peter head to Walkinstown library to share his story of social media success and how his journey brought him to personal connections and over 175,000 followers.
