As Queen Elizabeth II faces a rapidly changing Britain, her family continues to struggle against the needs of the monarchy and the wants of their fracturing personal lives. Here's the full, official trailer for 'The Crown', Season 3
With less than one month to go until its release, creators of The Crown have shared the full, official trailer to Season 3.
Starring Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II, the new season picks up in the late 1960s – a time when Britain is experiencing radical change. Not only will we see the development of Prince Charles' disgruntled character, but we will also be introduced to Camilla Parker Bowles (then named Camilla Shand).
Season three will also touch on Princess Margaret's affair and subsequent divorce from Antony Armstrong-Jones in 1978, not to mention other political and social issues of the time (including the moon landing and miners' strike).
'Times – they are a-changing'
The new trailer, which is two and a half minutes long, shows a country in turmoil. A voice overhead says, "The country is bankrupt, our national security is in tatters," while another voice adds, "this is no longer peacetime".
Next, we hear Queen Elizabeth II say, "this country was still great when I came to the throne. All that's happened on my watch is the place has fallen apart."
And at what cost? "We have all made sacrifices and suppressed who we are," she says. "It is not a choice. It is a duty."
The Crown, Season 3 will launch on Netflix on Sunday, November 17, with all episodes being made available at once. Watch the full trailer below:
