We’re choosing our IMAGE Women of the Year – and we want to hear from you

We’re choosing our IMAGE Women of the Year – and we want to hear from you

The end of the year is a time for many things — musings, resolutions and plenty of celebrations. We love to reminisce on the year that’s passed here in IMAGE HQ, but what we really love is to champion the heroes.

2018 has been a groundbreaking year for women. In every area, from sport, to business, to the arts, to politics, women have stood up, been counted, and made an unerasable mark. In their successes (and failures), the women of 2018 have inspired and energized the world. But more importantly, they’ve started a conversation around what it means to be a success and to be truly equal today.

Here at IMAGE, we love to champion women. From our spotlight-shining content to our glittering award ceremonies, we love women who challenge the status quo and shake things up. This year, inspired by the countless amazing feats of women around the world, we wanted to mark the end of the year with a celebration of their achievements. And what better way to do that than with the IMAGE Women of the Year.

We are compiling a list of the women who have made waves this year in Ireland. From all corners of the country and in every area, we’re shining a light on women that we all know and love — and many that we may not even have heard of. And this is where you, the readers, come in. We want to hear about the women who aren’t in the public eye — the women who work in silence and let success be their noise. While so many women have been celebrated on our screens this year (and deservedly so), there are many more who deserve bigger recognition.

If you know a woman who has achieved something special this year, or whose work has impacted those around her, we want to hear from you. Our inboxes are now open for you to send your recommendations for your IMAGE Woman of the Year.

Please send a paragraph (no more than 300 words) detailing your nomination, the work that your nominee has done in 2018 and why she deserves to be named a Woman of the Year, to our Digital Editor Dominique McMullan at [email protected] before Wednesday the 12th of December at 5 pm. Best of luck!
