Checking in: 7 of the most Christmassy hotels in the world

Who doesn’t love a good hotel with incredible Christmas decor? Here are seven of the most Christmassy hotels in the world to stalk online right now

Seeing as we are nearly two weeks into December already, it may be difficult to get a booking in some of the world’s most Christmassy hotels. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t stalk them from behind a computer screen while we stream Jingle Bells through our earphones.

A good hotel is always magical – but at Christmas, it becomes even more so.

Some go above and beyond with their Christmas decorations and excel at providing that sparkling, festive feeling. There are lights and towering trees and even a Disney palace.

While we may never be able to afford to stay in any of these seven hotels, we have resigned ourselves to gazing at the photos. They are just so beautiful to look at.

Wyndham Midtown 45

If you are a fan of the movie Elf, then you will love the Wyndham Midtown 45 hotel in New York City. This season, the hotel has decided to decorate a one-bedroom suite based upon the 2003 movie which starred Will Ferrell. The suite is decorated with intricate paper snowflakes and ingredients are on-hand in the kitchen to create a ‘Buddy the Elf’ style meal full of spaghetti, marshmallows, chocolate sauce, Pop-Tarts and rolls of cookie dough.

Adare Manor

The five-star Adare Manor in Limerick is the definition of a luxury hotel. Its beautiful interiors, stunning grounds and exceptional service have earned it rave reviews. It also celebrates Christmas in the most classic fashion with warm fires, hot drinks and a glittering tree. It’s pure magic.

The Ritz, London

The Ritz is synonymous with beauty and luxury and its Christmas decor is just the same. Decorated by Paul Thomas Flowers, classic red and gold festive accessories line the halls and decadent rooms, while their (huge) Christmas tree takes centre stage.

Located in the always charming city of Vienna in Austria, the Hotel Sacher is an important part of Vienna’s cultural history. It has hosted everyone from the late John F Kennedy to Justin Bieber. Its elegance and class are unsurpassed. The hotel is every bit as charming during Christmas with its Instagram page acting as a live advent calendar. This place is most certainly on our wishlist.

An art-deco landmark in Paris, the Four Seasons has been an institution since its opening in 1928. The hotel boasts three restaurants – with five Michelin stars between them – and boasts views of the Eiffel Tower. This year’s decorations were designed by Jeff Leatham and live up to the artistic past of the hotel while still remaining traditional.

The Shelbourne is a special part of Dublin’s past and present. Each year, it entrances revellers with its special type of Christmas cheer. Their festive cocktails are equally enticing as they are dangerous, while the newly opened snug bar, 1824, is where we want to be all Christmas – sitting down by the fire with a hot port in hand in good company.
