Calling all Potterheads: JK Rowling launches free Harry Potter hub for kids

If your house is firmly on the Hogwarts train, author J.K Rowling has a new hub that will be perfect to keep them entertained

J.K Rowling has announced a magical surprise for us mere muggles and we could not be more excited. The author took to Twitter yesterday to announce the big news: “Parents, teachers and carers are working to keep children amused and interested while we’re on lockdown might need a bit of magic,” she explained. “So I’m delighted to launch harrypotterathome.com.”

The new website is a Harry Potter fan hub, featuring a collection of child-friendly activities, puzzles, illustration tutorials, quizzes, games and more. Partnering with Bloomsbury and Scholastic, many of the activities available are educational, making them great tools to keep kids mentally engaged during lockdown.

However, the new hub is designed for grown fans as well. The audiobook of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (the first book of the series) is available to listen to, and (pace yourself!) a Platform 9 ¾ shop that sells everything from quidditch jumpers to Hogwarts gift trunks (packed with house paraphernalia) to famous wizards’ wands is an enticing click away.

The new HP website is a great resource for parents, teachers and Potterheads alike, and it could not have come at a better time. Check it out at harrypotterathome.com.
