Due to the levels of edge present in this, the punky home of fashion, one wouldn't always have put wedding dresses and London Fashion Week in the same thought. New York, now, New York offers much scope for the demure city bride, while Paris Haute Couture presents endless opportunity for a bit of froth. But London has always been far too technicolour/ androgynous/ outlandish for your average blushing maid (we tend to think the schedule is all Meadham Kirchoff and Ashish).
Spring, of course, always brings a lightness to proceedings, one way or another, but it's the flourishing of youngish British-grown brands like Giles (above), Erdem, Simone Rocha and Jonathan Saunders (below) - as well as the move of once Milan-based Antonio Berardi and the exciting one-time ditching of New York, by Marchesa (very bottom) - that has brought an extra special fairytale feel to the aesthetic.
Now I'm not suggesting it resembles Bridal Week (nor should it ever, if all is right with the world), but there's plenty to tempt a 2015 bride among the newest collections round Somerset House. Putting any on pre-order?
