As home comforts gain greater relevance again, maybe it's time to brush up on your cocktail mixing skills ... the recently re-opened Dublin Bar Academy has us shaking and stirring.
After a difficult first half of 2020, Dublin's most popular bar academy has been granted permission to reopen its doors.
And at a time when drinks options outside the home are fairly limited, this is an excellent opportunity to brush up on the skills, techniques and insider tips required to make you a Tom Cruise in the kitchen.
One of the most exciting, hands-on experiences the Academy offers is the Cocktails Boot Camp.
The Boot Camp is the perfect mix of entertainment and education, where each guest is greeted with a welcome cocktail upon arrival before sinking into the art behind mixology.
This leisurely introduction is then followed by a Classic Cocktail Tasting, where guests have some time for sampling in anticipation of the Mix-Off Challenge, where things get a bit competitive ...
The cool space is the perfect spot to blow off a little lockdown steam too, and a great spot for a date. However, it's not just on-site, the Academy are also offering a new Interactive Online Cocktail Course.
During this course, you will be guided through what makes a great cocktail and how to bring that knowledge into your home bar. From classic cocktails to homemade ingredients you will be inspired to get creative with some amazing drinks creations.
The two-and-a-half hour course runs on selected Friday and Saturdays from 7pm to 9:30pm.
The course will be run through Zoom with participants receiving their invite the day before the course.
The Cocktails Boot Camp costs from €39 per person and classes can be booked well in advance, email [email protected] for more details. The Interactive Online Cocktail Course can be booked here and costs €75 per person.
