Anyone else feeling a little tired this week? The long road to voting is finally over, and we're all looking forward to a little TLC. Whether it's some Saturday morning yoga or getting involved with a new Girl Crew, this week has tonnes of brilliant events going on around the city, all featured in this week's What's On. Be sure to cast your vote today, then head out into the streets of Dublin for some fun. Happy Weekend from IMAGE!
On Saturday: Documentary Launch & Artist Talk - Jill & Gill
Dublin-based duo Jill & Gill are behind 'Formation', a documentary tracking the process of work behind their luxury panels that were featured in Brown Thomas in collaboration with Art & Style. Along with the screening, the artists themselves will be staging a talk on their work, so if you're a fan of their coveted prints and t-shirts, this is not to be missed.
Saturday: Bushy Park Market Yoga
Sure, you may have to bypass the Friday night drinks to be fresh for this one, but it'll all be worth it if the weather keeps well. Head to the Bandstand in Bushy Park on Saturday morning at 11 for an outdoor yoga class in a beautiful setting, all for just a fiver donation.
Sunday - Dublin Wine Festival 2018
For one day only, head to the Morrison Hotel for the annual Dublin Wine Festival, celebrating all things Italian wine. Thirty Italian producers will be there to chat about their products and processes, and there'll be plenty of opportunities to have a little taste. The morning slot is for those in the industry, but the festival is open to the public from 4-6pm.
Sunday - 2018 May Flea Market
After the sad news that the Dublin Flea will have to leave its home at Newmarket until it finds a new one, this might be your last chance for a while to grab a bargain. Clothing, bric a brac, records and jewellery can all be found from 11 am to 5 pm.
Monday (or Tuesday or Wednesday) - Father John Misty at Vicar Street
The former drummer of dreamy folk band Fleet Foxes, Josh Tillman (Fr. John Misty to you and me) has been our go-to slow jam guy for a while now, and he's coming to Dublin for a three-night stint in Vicar Street next week. Tickets are sparse at this stage, but if you manage to get standing, it's only €36.50 to see one of the smoothest voices in indie rock live on stage.
Thursday - Gxrl Cøde Launch
Creativity in Dublin is at an exciting place right now, and we're always interested to see new collaborations and collectives cropping up around the city. GXRL CØDE is launching next Thursday in Opium, and is all about showcasing female creativity in art, fashion and music in Dublin. With tunes from DJ Tara Stewart, Chipped on hand to give out some manicures and free doughnuts from Aungier Danger all on the cards, it looks set to be a really fun night,
