What began as a general conversation starter has exploded into a viral Twitter thread. A social media user by the name of Jamie asked his followers, “Is there something trivial that your parents say that really annoys you for no good reason? My mum accidentally calling Pets at Home ‘Pets City’ for the past 12 years is right up there,” he added.

Since then, responses have been flooding in from people all over the world. From parents using ‘CSI’ to describe any crime show, to calling Timotei shampoo ‘TimmetyToo’ – here are some of our favourite (and relatable) replies so far:

Instead of saying “take a chill pill” my dad says “take a chill-out tablet”

My grandmother calls every crime show CSI. Doesn’t matter what show it is. Sometimes she tacks something on the end like CSI: Navy or whatever. She watches them constantly and expects me to understand.

my mum can’t pronounce Arnold Schwarzenegger’s name AT ALL & instead every time she tries to say it she says “Arnold Schwarz-n-ham-n-egg-burger” for absolutely no reason other than she finds it hilarious.
