Amy Schumer Leaves Huge Tip For Struggling Waiter

Amy Schumer is playing a blinder in likeability stakes these past few months. First there’s her subversive feminist comedy show Inside Amy Schumer with sketches that lampoon the media’s perception of women, as well as our relationships with each other.

ICYMI: Amy Schumer and ?ageing? stars in Last F***able day sketch

Then she throws herself in front of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian at the TIME 100 Gala, leading to one of the most memorable red carpet moments in recent memory.

And let us not forget her acceptance speech at the Glamour Awards last month, where her body confidence spiel included lines like ?I’m probably like 160 pounds right now, and I can catch a d*** whenever I want? and ?I’m not gonna apologise for who I am, and I’m actually gonna love the skin I’m in and not be striving for some other version of myself.?

Now Schumer is proving that behind all that talent is also a decent human being after reports this weekend detailed her leaving a huge tip for a struggling waiter.

The comedian, and soon to be Hollywood star of upcoming romantic comedy Trainwreck, was dining at Peter’s Clam Bar on Long Island, Page Six reports, when she got chatting to her waiter. During the conversation, which sources described as ?engaging? and ?animated? the waiter disclosed he was in college and working two jobs to fund his education. When it came to settling her $49 bill, Schumer decided to tip her waiter $500. How incredibly lovely is that?

Other celebrities that have displayed similar generous behavior include now-actor David Beckham, who once tipped a waitress $900 for a $100 tab, and Johnny Depp, who famously left $4000 at a restaurant.
