3 Books To Read Before Summer Ends

A summer read is a book best not taken too seriously; one you can dip in and out of in between sunscreen applications while lounging by the pool (so save the Man Booker shortlist for the duvet days). ?We’re at the end of the lazy, bright evenings but if you’re looking for a story that can be devoured in no time at all, there’s still time to pick up the three?titles below that tick all the boxes on our summer reading lists.

Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty

Liane Moriarty’s?Truly Madly Guilty has received’much attention thanks to a very nice plug on Reese Witherspoon’s Instagram book club, but it’s not all hot air; the book is a great read. The tale starts when a summer barbeque reveals old tensions between two friends and talk turns to one fateful event that changed everything. Summer suspense at its best and so readable, it’s easy to see why the rights to this have already been snapped up by Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman.

Lie With Me by Sabine Durrant

Like all clever thrillers, Lie With Me is made for binge reading. While on a Greek holiday with his new girlfriend and family, ?failed writer Paul finds himself fatally caught up in the investigation of a girl who went missing ten years before. Clues are slowly revealed as the former golden boy goes further out of his depth, but can he be trusted? It’s one that will keep you guessing until the very end.

One Hundred Days of Happiness by Fausto Brizzi

What would you do if you only had 100 days left to live? It seems an impossible question to answer, but that’s exactly what Lucio Battistini is facing in this moving novel.?He has just over three months to make amends and live every day as if it’s his last. I was captivated by the feel-good narrative as our character is forced to shake up his existence and try to start over. It’s a heart-warming read.
