9 amazingly underrated wines from your local Lidl, according to Vivino

For wine snobs on a budget, we found the best Lidl wines for under €13

If you frequent Lidl’s wine section, you’ve probably scratched your head at the amount of people taking photos of wine bottles.

Well, we have solved the riddle and the answer is Vivino.

Vivino is a wine app, where you can search through loads of reviews of different wines. You can either snap a picture of the wine label through the app, or search the wine’s name manually to see its current rating.

Customers can buy wine as well through the app, but it’s a handy tool to have when you’re trying to choose between two bottles. Now, it’s worth noting that a few of Lidl’s wines weren’t in the Vivino database. But we found about 90 per cent of them no problem.

So, to save you a bit of time on your next weekend wine trip, we used Vivino to compare the wines Lidl offers in Ireland and chose the rosé, sparkling, whites and reds that got top marks.
