10 astounding images of wild animals wandering cities during lockdown

Wild animals are taking full advantage of people-free cities, wandering unpopulated streets, gardens and temples

As many countries remain in lockdown, empty streets and social distancing have caused animals to grow bolder than usual.

Wildlife that usually inhabit surrounding parks, lakes and mountains have ventured into seemingly deserted city centres.

Whether these creatures are searching for food or just exercising their newly-found freedom is unknown, but the resulting images are fascinating.

Here are 10 photos of wild animals roaming nearby cityscapes.

1. A fox window shops on Dublin’s Grafton Street

2. A coyote roams San Francisco, California

3. Mountain goats climb walls in Llandudno, Wales

4. Deer graze in Nara, Japan

5. A puma hunts in Santiago, Chile

6. A jellyfish swims in Venice’s canals

7. Monkeys groom in Lopburi, Thailand
