Zara Home’s new collection is a return to warm, natural textures – and we’re into it

Zara Home’s new collection is a return to warm, natural textures – and we’re into it

After the coolest hues of blue and grey, and the harsh, industrial textures of steel and other metals, this autumn we’re being seduced by warmer, neutral colours and nature-inspired textures like linen, canvas, raffia or wood.

Zara Home’s new Raw Edit is no exception with wood, earthy tones, rough textures and simplified design all coming to the fore. It is a return to the basics, an ode to the makers and creators with raw hems, the perfect imperfection of natural materials. Rather than the tropical, humid colours of previous years, this is a dry heat palette – yellowed greens, browns and reds to add warmth and a soft fawn base colour.

Here’s a look at the collection and our picks of the trends.

Rattan

The rattan theme continues from Spring/Summer with baskets and roughly hewn rugs and throws available, all in calm, cosy hues. Round tray with white detail, €89.99, bed throw set, €99.99.

Rough and Ready

For tableware, dark, earthy ceramics are the order of the day, along with dimpled, imperfect glassware. Black stoneware, from €7.99, glass tumbler, €2.99, linen tablecloth, €69.99.

Simple Concrete

Concrete is about the only remanent of the industrial trend that’s evident in the new collection, and even then it has been pared back and muted in light colours, as seen in the new bathroom collection. Soap dispenser with cream stripe, €17.99, multi-striped towel, from €9.99.

Maker’s Mark

Zara Home honours the basic skills with exposed seams, simple structures and intricate weaves. Waffle knit linen blanket, €89.99, cushions from €35.99, striped knit blanket, €89.95.
