Irish designer Paul Costelloe launches a furniture collection with Ventura

Irish fashion legend Paul Costelloe proves he can do just about anything as he teams up with Ventura for his first bespoke furniture collection.

From handbags and homewares to designing for princess Diana, there’s a lot to be said about Paul Costelloe’s thirty-five-year career. What was once a small womenswear production house churning out one or two collections a year, is now one of Ireland and the UK’s most recognisable design brands. Not content to sit on his laurels either, Paul Costelloe is now trying his hand in furniture design.

Ventura Design and Costelloe proudly showcased their first of two collaborations in Ventura’s London showrooms earlier this month, entitled Chevrolet, and will be followed by a second collection in 2020. The Chevrolet collection is compromised of a curved sofa and armchair, a dining table with chairs to match as well as a sleek coffee table.

“We could not have been more pleased to work with Paul who had always wanted to turn his hand to furniture design. The result is a creative collection of furniture which will appeal to customers looking for something with true flair and originality,” says Ventura’s Creative Director Arlene McIntyre.

The collection takes inspiration from the cool west coast and boasts an art deco influence throughout. All made to order, the collection advertises a range of colours and finishes for the oak and steel pieces tailoring to any and all interior models.

“I love the opportunity for a new challenge. When Ventura approached me with the idea of a collaboration, it was a dream come true,” says Paul of the collaboration.

Renowned for their bespoke furniture range, interior design service Ventura prides itself on the quality of their furniture. Their team of craftspeople manufacture the furniture and upholstered pieces in their dedicated workshops. With excellence in mind, the pieces feature the finest quality of hand-woven fabrics from leading Italian mills. The next addition, the Wilshire design collection is due to launch in Dublin in 2020.

“The provenance of our product is very important to our customers,” says Arlene. “Having an Irish designer of Paul’s reputation to work with has been a wonderfully rewarding process for all of the Ventura team.”

All of The Paul Costelloe furniture collection is available to purchase in Ventura showrooms in Ireland, as well as online. Prices for the Chevrolet collection start from €700 and bespoke prices are available upon request.
