Dave Douglas? cool Donnybrook pad is chock-a-block with clever solutions for small space living. Imbued with a strong and confident visual sense, every inch of his art-filled home has been put to good use – a pile of stacked books in his sitting room looks like an installation, a glass panel inserted into his bedroom floorboards floods the sitting room below with light, while his checkerboard black and white tiled bathroom was inspired by Ian Schrager’s design of Morgans Hotel in New York.

?The best representation of what goes on in my head is the interior of my house,? Dave says. ?So I guess you’d have to say the style is completely personal.?

Dave, who owns digital agency Ebow, bought the house because it’s close to the city centre and he wanted to cycle to work. He had loved that style of house since his teenage years and had been looking to buy one pretty much ever since.

The redesign, which includes a new attic conversion and a colourful courtyard, adds light and space, while his funky art collection adds a generous smattering of personal flair. ?I didn’t want anything that looked architect-designed or finished by an interior designer,? he says.

We think Dave’s redesign is bang on the money. With a feeling of space and light, the overall effect is calming, uplifting and fun while his amazing artwork collection makes this an inspirational home.
