Now that it’s officially autumn, let’s go shopping for rugs

Now that it’s officially autumn, let’s go shopping for rugs

You can buy all the soft home accessories you like – fluffy cushions, cosy throws, flickering candlelight – but when it comes giving a room warmth and creating a mood, there is nothing like a beautiful rug. A rug can set the tone for the whole room, give you a perfect colour palette to work from, add texture without overpowering your furniture selection, and really ground the space.

This autumn, as the turning leaves begin to litter the path and you rediscover your coat and jacket wardrobe, we’ve selected some of our favourite modern and artistic rugs to warm up your home.

RugArt “End of Day” rug

This beautiful hand-knotted Knot’s rug, available from RugArt, is an interpretation of a piece of work by the same name by British artist George Morton Clark. Made of luxuriously soft wool and silk, the deep blue hues give depth to a space, while the deft strokes of pink and green add humour and fun. From €16,875.

Nordic Elements Elixir Pom Pom rug

We love the textured palette of this rug, it will work perfectly with either a grey/blue tones or warmer colours. €395.

Covet House Ambar rug

Not sure if we could walk over this, it might have to hang on the wall instead. The effervescent drips bring so much life while remaining demure. €4,200

Amara Luster Wash rug

If you’re looking for seaside vibes without the twee element, this Calvin Klein beauty from Amara is the job. €792

Heal’s Almeria rug in Midnight

Finding a block colour rug in muted hues that isn’t boring can be quite a task, but this petrol grey Heal’s option with pink tassels will keep things interesting. From around €618

Anthropologie Helena rug

However, if fun is the name of the name, we love the burnt orange and peachy hues of this Anthropologie number. From around €320.

Jonnmar Abyss Blue rug

This Jonnmar rug washes an overwhelming sense of calm over us. €12,085.
