Interiors Pinspiration: Love Heart Colour Schemes

This week on Pinterest, we've been getting our spring colour cues from an unexpectedly sweet source?

If nothing else, Valentine's Day is an excellent excuse to eat a shameful amount of sweets (cue hopeless romantics everywhere fainting?in shock and indignation). We'd live in a house made of sweets if we could, but candy-coloured interiors can be difficult to pull off without veering into the excessively childish or, worse, the migraine-inducing.

So although we forecast a flavour for all things berry earlier this month, we didn't see the Love Hearts look coming. Somewhat unexpectedly, we love it.

An unabashedly pretty palette of'self-assured pastels alongside bright whites, this trend may evoke confectionery, from gleeful Love Hearts through to glamorous Ladur?e macarons, but it also borrows something from?several different paint companies? 2016 colour collections.

The rich ochre tone of Cherished Gold,?Dulux 's 2016 Colour of the Year, beautifully?balances the saccharine softness of very pale pinks. (See here for ideas on how to decorate with this surprisingly versatile hue.) A pure neutral like Simply White from the in-demand US brand Benjamin Moore (stocked exclusively by MRCB in Ireland) is equally effective.
