Get renovating: 3 houses for sale in Sligo for less than €150,000

An old farmhouse, a former local pub and a quaint cottage – just three houses for sale in Sligo for under €150,000 to tempt you.

There's something about Sligo – probably its mix of landscapes, the rocky shores to the craggy lines of Ben Bulben – that draws everyone in. It's a place you can imagine yourself living in, long walks along the beach, surfing, some great little food spots.

If you're thinking of moving west, here are three homes, all in need of various extents of work, to tempt you.

Ardnaglass Lodge, Skreen, Co Sligo

This is the top end of the budget and will require some serious work but it has so much potential. Sitting on half an acre, this old farmhouse is found along a long walled and tree-lined drive and surrounded by outhouses that could be converted into other accommodation.

However, first stop is the main house itself. With lots of charm that includes original floorboards and timber sash windows. On the ground floor is a kitchen, living room and sitting room while upstairs are three bedrooms, a study and a family bathroom.

The house is just a few minutes' walk from the beach and the charming Beach Bar overlooking Aughris.

Main Street, Easkey, Co Sligo

This former pub already has planning to take down the more recent extension on the rear and convert it into a three-bedroom house with two two-bedroom apartments.

Located right in the heart of this truly lovely Sligo seaside village, the building has plenty of original features including high ceilings, cast iron fireplaces and there are so many remnants from the old pub, O'Sullivans, including the lettering painted in the fanlight.

There's a surprisingly spacious rear outdoor area for such a central location, which means there really is plenty to play with here.

Mount Taffe, Aclare, Co Sligo

This one-bedroom cottage comes on an extensive 4.8 acres of land and has already seen some work done to it.

Through the small porch is the living and dining area that includes an old-fashioned range with a small kitchenette to one side. Above this is a mezzanine loft area that is accessed by ladder and ideal for storage or a temporary sleeping area. Off the sitting area is the bedroom with its own access to the back garden.

On the property there are also a number of outhouses that could be converted into living or working spaces.
