This six-bed Rathmines home will cost you €3.2 million

If you’ve ever dreamed of having an old-fashioned six-bed, three-bath house in Rathmines, this gorgeous Victorian house will be right up your street…

This beautiful Victorian house at Lismoy, 8 Temple Gardens, Rathmines, will set you back €3.2 million; and with its beautiful interiors and location, it’s easy to see why. It’s a three-minute walk from the Cowper Luas stop, which will get you to Stephen’s Green in just 15 minutes.

Close-by is an abundance of lively local cafés, independent restaurants and some of the coolest bars Dublin has to offer; including  The Bowery, which has the unusual exterior of a ship.

The red-brick, Dublin 6 home was built around 1906, has a private garden of 0.3 acres and has an overall square-foot of approximately 3,300.

Inside

The interior of this home complements its exterior perfectly; old-fashioned and vintage. When you first walk in you are greeted with a burnt-red carpet which is complemented by dark furniture and gold details. The front door is white which matches the all-white walls in the hall.

While it is a two-story house, there is an interesting short set of stairs that brings you down to the garden room, and out into the beautiful, private, rear garden.

One of the most striking rooms in the house is this all-pink living room. With pink walls, pink arm-chairs and pink detailing in lamps, ornaments and cushions; you will either love it or hate it. Retro gold details also feature in the spacious and bright room; with multiple frames, a hanging chandelier and oval-shaped mirror.

As it’s not to everyone’s taste, new owners may wish to redecorate.

The floor-to-ceiling windows let in an abundance of light while also giving a 180-degree view of Lismoy Road.

The second living room in this Rathmines house doesn’t have a one-colour scheme; however, if you love old-fashioned meets modern, you will love this. The burnt red couch matches the carpet of the hallway perfectly, while the carpet of this room sports a red and yellow square pattern. Books and frames personalise the room, while the silver duo overhead lamps illuminate it.

Nearly every room boasts a feature fireplace, and this beautiful dining room is no exception. The dark-wood furniture is also brought into this space, with a colour scheme of yellow and green. The windows let in plenty of light, while the low-hanging gold and yellow lampshade brightens up the 10-seater dining table.

The kitchen is fairly basic with all-white cupboards and tiles; needing quite a bit of renovation. However, it does have these charming wooden panels on the wall (which would be a trendy contrast in a renovated, modern kitchen).

The kitchen opens onto a second dining room with a rectangle arch; which carries on the wooden-panelled walls and laminated flooring.

Bedrooms

This Lismoy home has six spacious bedrooms and three bathrooms. The master has an all-pink theme with white and pink wall-papered walls and a dusk-pink carpet. It also has three tall, sash windows with a writing desk that looks out onto the street.

All furniture is a deep brown wood and all light fixtures white. The master bedroom also has its own sink, which really shows how much history this house holds.

All of the bedrooms are fairly spacious, including this double one. It continues with the deep furniture vibe but sports a quirky, all-gold bed.

This bedroom also has a large, built-in, wooden-slated wardrobe with a dressing table.

And if the all-pink living room and bedroom isn’t enough for you, there’s also an all-pink bathroom!

Outside

Both the front and rear gardens total approximately 0.3 acres. The front garden is completely fenced with hedging to both sides, including a variety of shrubs and flowering plants.

In the rear garden, a greenhouse is home to mature fruit trees and specimen plants. It is incredibly spacious and very private.

Do you think you could put your own spin on this luxury home? If so, it’s currently on the market for 3.2 million.
