3 surprisingly large homes around Ireland on the market for €200,000

Just because you don’t have a huge budget doesn’t mean you have to settle for cramped conditions. These three homes are all surprisingly large for their price tag.

We all know that once you get out of the main urban centres, there’s good value to be had when looking for property. However, when you’re used to looking at prices in Dublin or Cork city all the time, it’s easy to forget just how far your budget could go in a more rural location.

If your price range will only stretch to a small apartment in the city, it can be surprising to see that you could easily afford a four-bedroom house in other places.

Here are three homes around Ireland that are particularly spacious for their price tag of around €200,000.

Rose Hall, Dunmain, New Ross, Wexford, €200,000

homes under €200,000

Before you think you have to go all the way out west to get a well-sized family home for this price, this home in Wexford proves that isn’t the case.

With four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large kitchen and dining area, this house is situated within a small, quiet development of just six homes. It has a garage, as well as a rear garden that would be great for kids.

Close to New Ross and just half an hour’s drive from Waterford, it’s also well located. Built in 2003, all the fixtures are modern and in good condition, and this property could be moved into straightaway.

Srutan, Letterass, Leenane, Mayo, €200,000

homes under €200,000

On the other hand, if you do fancy living out west, there are some wonderful properties available.

This three-bedroom home has beautiful elevated views, and is also situated close to the shores of the Killary Fjord, so there is no shortage of scenery nearby.

Inside, it has high, vaulted ceilings in the living room and kitchen, making it feel particularly spacious, while warm-coloured wooden floors and tiles throughout help add a feeling of cosiness.

The Wild Atlantic Way is also on your doorstep, with stunning coastline both north and south to explore.

Cloonena, Kilconnell, Ballinasloe, Galway, €199,000

homes under €200,000

This gorgeous three-bed house is over 100 years old, and so has plenty of character.

It also comes with an acre and a half of land, including an equestrian sand arena, two paddocks, three loose boxes and a foaling stall.

The living room and kitchen are well-sized, with exposed beams in both and a stone fireplace in the living room. In addition to the equestrian area, there are also a number of storage sheds and outhouses.

The house is situated close to beautiful bog land with trails suitable for walking, cycling and trekking, part of the Hymany Way walking and hiking trail. Ballinasloe is 15 minutes’ drive, while Galway city is around an hour.
