We’ll Take England

Wow. Karen Millen has teamed up with fashion photographer extraordinaire Mr. David Bailey himself for the Spring Summer 14 campaign. Not only that, but they’ve managed to nab one of the best stylists in the business, the legendary Katy England.

David Bailey first rose to prominence when he arrived in Manhattan in 1962 with model and sometime girlfriend Jean Shrimpton in tow, and then created an informal street-style editorial unlike anything Vogue had ever published before. He has since gone on to become a firm fixture in the fashion establishment, with his work currently on show in a retrospective in London. Katy England has been an underground of doyenne of catwalk fashion since the early nineties. After early stints at Elle and Dazed & Confused she transitioned to instrumental roles at brands such as Tom Ford, Alexander McQueen and Kate Moss for Topshop.

The images England and Bailey have composed for Karen Millen are a smorgasbord of cool – which isn’t an at all surprising result when one couples Bailey’s minimalist portraiture with England’s eye for inner-circle cool and Millen’s urban luxe. How fast can we get to the shops?
