Luxury second-hand seller Vestiaire Collective are lending their efforts to fight coronavirus - with a charity sale of some fabulous pieces

Although shopping may be the furthest thing from most of our minds' at the moment, when it's for a good cause, we want to get behind it.

Lovers of luxury clothing and accessories (but who like to do it on a budget) will no doubt be familiar with the treasure trove that is Vestiaire Collective, a platform where sellers from all over the world can resell luxury pieces at a lower price. Whether you're in the market for Gucci loafers, a Batsheva dress or a Balmain suit, chances are you'll find them here.

As the Covid-19 crisis rages on around the world, Vestiaire Collective is lending its platform to fight the virus, announcing a charity sale of luxury items from some of the biggest names in fashion.

Kate Moss, Charlotte Tilbury, Thandie Newton and many more celebrities have donated items from their own wardrobe for sale on Vestiaire Collective, with the proceeds going straight to a charity of their choice — usually the World Health Organisation.

With Kate Moss donating an iconic leopard faux fur jacket and Thandie Newton giving some fabulous Jimmy Choo's, there is no shortage

Some of the world's most prestigious designers have also donated their own creations to the charity sale, with the likes of Justin Thornton & Thea Bregazzi (the duo behind Preen), and Margherita Missoni all donating items.

And on the influencer front, some of Instagram's favourite fashion experts have lent their wardrobes to the cause, including designer Jeanette Madsen, vintage lover Pernille Teisbaek and French fashion maven Camille Charriere.

To root through some of the platform's best pieces, you can find out more about their worldwide Charity Sale here, or search your fashion icon's name on the site.
