Beyoncé has just given us all a lesson in colour blocking and power suits

Beyoncé has just given us all a lesson in colour blocking and power suits

Is there anything Beyoncé can’t do? Because she has just given us a lesson in colour blocking and the art of a power suit

She’s a bonafide superstar. She’s inspired women all over to get in Formation. She empowered single ladies everywhere with the anthem of a generation.

She’s Beyoncé.

And she’s got some serious fashion kudos too.

The queen of music’s latest look is a lesson in power dressing and we need to have a serious talk about it. In a series of Instagram photos, the singer posed in a Jeux De Mains colour block trouser suit with matching gloves by up-and-coming Lebanese designer Jeux De Mains.

With an eighties-style oversized silhouette and abstract print in hues of periwinkle blue, baby pink, and maroon – the suit is a fashion power play.

Jeux De Mains

Jeux De Mains was created by Salim Cherfane who was born and raised in Beirut. He made his first furore into fashion by way of art and graphic design, two subjects which he studied at “L’Academie Libanaise des Beaux Arts” in Lebanon. In 2018, he was selected by the Starch Foundation – which is a non-profit organisation that supports Lebanese designers – to showcase his first fashion collection.

And now, within the space of a year, his designs have just been worn by one of the biggest stars in the world. This is an endorsement most designers dream about. For Salim, his career is now en route to rise. His genderless designs are full of bold colours, loud patterns and clean cuts. He describes his designs as “a vibrant reminder to be present, to be here in all its form and colour.”

Beyoncé is a keen supporter of fashion houses in the Middle East and has worn designs by many of its up-and-coming designers, including Jean Louis Sabaji and Yousef Al-Jasmi.
