Seven Instagram accounts you need to follow for Milan Fashion Week

Seven Instagram accounts you need to follow for Milan Fashion Week

We are nearing the end of fashion month (excuse us while we dry off our tears), and this week, we’re spoilt for sartorial choice, as London Fashion Week wraps up and moves on to the Italian grandeur of Milan. While we still have the LFW finale day to look forward to (with RIXO, Shrimps and Richard Quinn all in the works), Milan Fashion Week will kick off a few hours away, with Gucci, Alberta Ferretti and Moncler all taking to the runway tomorrow afternoon. We’ll be glued to our phones.

Italy is often seen as the birthplace of lavish, highly feminine fashion, and these seven Instagram accounts perfectly embody what Italian fashion is all about. If you want to keep up to date with Milan Fashion Week, these are the accounts you need to follow.

Virginia Varinelli (@virginiavarinelli)

Digital entrepreneur and Insta-wiz Virginia Varinelli must be tired this week, as she’s whizzing from New York to Milan to head to some of the most prestigious shows on the calendar. Virginia herself has the typical polished Instagram style of the Italian set, which is no surprise, as her blog The Ugly Truth of V has shot her to top influencer status in Italy. Expect plenty of sumptuous street style shots and lots of coverage on Insta-stories.

Jan Tantikarn (@janurky)

While not Italian, we’ll be glued to Jan Tankiturn’s Instagram as she jets to Milan to soak up the style. Jan is the Digital Editor of Harper’s Bazaar Thailand, so she knows exactly how to capture the ultra-fast moving fashion this week for an Instagram audience. While her own style is expectedly gorgeous, Jan’s Instagram has plenty of humour to tie in with the beautiful shots — be sure to follow her personalised hashtag #janjantakesMFW to see how she gets on.

Chiara Ferragni (@chiaraferragni)

If you weren’t already following the Instagram royalty that is Chiara Ferragni, now’s the time to hit the button. Chiara is one of the original influencers on the platform and also one of the biggest, having shown the major moments of her life over the past few years (including a baby, marriage, and plenty of fashion shows) to her followers. If anyone will be at the top shows of the week in Milan, it’s her.

Ola Farahat (@olafarahat)

Dubai-based style influencer Ola is no stranger to luxury, and with Versace being one of her signature styles, she’ll fit right in at Milan Fashion Week. Ola has made a massive name for herself in online fashion circles, winning a Grazia Style Award and collaborating with Own the Look on her own collection. She’ll snap everything from her day, so stay tuned to her stories.

Yuliya Paul (@yuliya_paul)

Belarussian model Yuliya is currently on location working in Milan, which hopefully means she’ll be making an appearance at one (or many) of the upcoming shows this week. A scroll through her feed shows her signature style as minimalist, pared-back beauty (and that she’s able to rock a brunette bob and blonde pixie cut in equal measure). Expect to see her turn Milan’s beautiful streets into high fashion shots on her feed.

Vogue Italia (@vogueitalia)

The mother ship. Vogue Italia will be everywhere you need to be this week, with their Insta-stories already deftly switching between the end of LFW and the beginnings of MFW. If polished shots and high fashion videos are your vibe, you need to follow them.

Vittoria Ceretti (@vittoceretti)

Model Vittoria has shot recent campaigns for Chanel and Versace, but you may recognise her as the bedazzled bride, complete with swimming cap-veil, at Chanel’s show at Couture Fashion Week. Her face has cropped up everywhere this fashion month, from feathery eyelashes at Pierpaolo Piccioli’s stunning Valentino show to OTT jewellery at Versace.
