Is anyone doing much else at the weekends this month apart from going for walks? January just isn't a month for pubs, clubs or eating out, regardless of whether your bank balance will allow for it or not. It's a month for bedding down at home, and cocooning yourself in cosy clothes when you do veer outside.
If you don't own a parka, then you won't know what your missing. It's the ultimate piece of January outerwear: waterproof (usually), padded, lined, lightweight... and cool with it. I have a Topshop parka that I bought almost 20 years ago and it's still going strong. I have another, longer and more oversized, that I bought in H&M a couple of years ago. I adore both of them and look forward to wearing them as soon as the weather turns. You don't have to pay big bucks, you see, to add a parka to your coat collection. There's plenty of affordable options on the high street.
