Real Women: Sarah Gill of Seagreen boutique on how she found her signature style

Sarah Gill is the owner of Seagreen boutique in Monkstown and Ranelagh (seagreen.ie). Here she explains to MARIE KELLY how she has developed her own unique signature style, which she defines as refined boho.

My style is a little eclectic in that I like bohemian influences (from designers like Iro and Chloé) but in a refined and wearable way. However, on off-duty days, I wear Anine Bing blazers with trainers and boyfriend jeans.

The Vanessa Seward piece I’m wearing in this picture is everything I love in a dress; it’s my style completely encompassed. Seward is a really cool Parisian designer known for her strong prints, which I adore.

Much of my “shopping” is done by pulling pieces from the shop floor. I also love to shop when I’m away, as that’s when I have the time to browse. I still love bricks-and-mortar shops, but appreciate the value of online when I’m looking for something specific.

Interchangeable basics for day and evening make up the bulk of my wardrobe. I’ve refined my style since becoming a mum.

I admire Anine Bing’s style. Her wardrobe seems to encompass trends that work for her business and home life. I also admire Jacey Duprie and the girls from A Style Album. On the red carpet, it has to be Sienna Miller (although it feels so noughties to say that!). She can pull off polished and vintage equally well.

When I was young, my bedroom wall was covered in pages from Vogue. I get genuine enjoyment from reading fashion magazines and translating trends into what’s possible for my day-to-day life.

I honestly think all strong trends reappear again and again, so a good investment will always stand the test of time. For now, I am loving longer lengths and a more relaxed silhouette.

It’s no coincidence that my favourite labels are stocked in Seagreen. There is a genuine love for every label in each of the two boutiques, Ranelagh and Monkstown. Chloé, Equipment and Iro are my go-to labels, with more modern influences from Rag & Bone and Vince. On the high street, I love & Other Stories and Zara is always great for fast fashion.

I like my wardrobe to be organised. I keep tops together, dresses together, etc (and is it embarrassing to admit that it’s also colour-coded?!).
