Is there anything as chic and comfortable as a maxi?

I’ve never been lucky enough to have beautifully bronzed legs, so a maxi is and always has been my summer saviour; that and palazzo pants. But even for women who can throw on a pair of shorts without any thought to fake tan or the reality of pale skin and blue veins, there are days when they, too, simply want to wear something that envelops and comforts them, but looks chic and effortless too.
