It was a folly affair at Dublin’s RDS last night for Ladies Day at the Dublin Horse Show. Crowds gathered over five hours as each contestant took to the stage to talk through her outfit, with help from MC broadcaster Doireann Garrihy. New York-based Irish blogger Erika Rox (Retro Flame) flew in to judge the event alongside fashion editor of the Irish Independent Bairbre Power. Erika wore a ruffled lilac midi-dress with a headpiece by Jennifer Wrynne, while Bairbre chose an elegant black midi-dress.

Carlow woman Deirdre Kane was awarded the Best Dressed title which included a €10,000 voucher for Dundrum Town Centre. Deirdre chose a white mid-length dress with feathered hem by Design Boutique in Cork, which she wore with accompanying shoes from River Island, a vintage turban-style hat and full-length gloves which brought a feel of old Hollywood glamour to her look.

Dundrum Town Centre Director Don Nugent said: “The Dublin Horse Show is one of the biggest events in the Irish social calendar, and we’re proud to be part of such an institution for the 4th year running”.

“Today is a testament to Irish style and, it’s been a wonderful day for all in attendance.”

The Dublin Horse Show takes place throughout August 8th to 12th. For more see dublinhorseshow.com.
