Have you heard of French brand Mode Trotter?

Have you heard of French brand Mode Trotter?

Neither had I until yesterday. Now, I can see Mode Trotter featuring heavily in my AW18 wardrobe. If I was to describe it in one word, I’d say, quite simply, it’s cool. It’s also modern and fresh and full of personality. This is a brand for women who want a wardrobe of unique pieces that are chic but make a statement too. Below are five of my favourite pieces.

I love both the colour and the cut of this dress. It’s such a simple and elegant silhouette, but the gorgeous shade of coral adds personality to it. If you want to be on-trend for AW18, then you need some pleats in your wardrobe. This dress ticks that trend box nicely.

Pleated dress, €126 (was €180)

This gorgeous wool coat is midi length with two patch pockets at the front. The colour combination feels very contemporary and unexpected. At 30 per cent off, this is a great buy for next season.

Khaki and orange wool coat, €252 (was €360)

The juxtaposition of a utilitarian sweatshirt with glamorous metallic fabric makes a strong fashion statement. I adore this rich shade of burgundy as it will work beautifully with autumn’s key colours; tan, rust and magenta.

Metallic sweatshirt, €168 (was €210)

This shade of tan was seen on the AW18 runways of Chloé, Céline, Acne and Derek Lam among others. This skirt manages to look quite boyish despite having a full silhouette and being full length. That’s the power of pockets.

Maxi skirt with pockets, €119 (was €170)

A conservative wrap top is given a unique edge with voluminous sleeves. This is a lovely, easy piece for summer; traditional stripes but in a non-traditional colour.

Striped wrap blouse, €67.50 (was €135)
