Golden Globes 15: The Dresses

Last night was Golden Globes night, which means today is dissection day. Who looked amazing? Who looked like they were wearing a red satin sack? (LENA DUNHAM) Check out our gallery above for some of the best and worst picks of the night, and continue below for a little bit more reflection, and Jennifer Lopez looking immaculate.

Amal Clooney

Of course International human rights lawyer and Oscar de la Renta bride Mrs. Amal Clooney was going to dominate the red carpet. This was one of the highest profile events she has attended with her husband, one actor George. That inky Dior gown and those white gloves are giving off a bit of an Anastasia vibe, but that is totally a good thing.

Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt rarely misses at these events, and this Grecian gown is just another reason why she’s the go to gal for preppy femininity.

Lorde

Swit swoo. All that palling around with Taylor Swift has worn off on Lorde as she revealed some midriff, but no button. The New Zealand singer nailed hair and beauty too and we think this ensemble might be the most favourably memorable of the night because not only does the young woman look great, she also looks like she’s really enjoying herself.

Emma Stone

Leave it to Emma Stone to bring a jumpsuit to the red carpet. The Birdman actress wore Lanvin and struck a nice informal yet sleek pose. The nicest thing about the red carpet this year was how younger starlets dressed to suit their age, as opposed to looking stiff and formal. Also, high five on working the metallics trend.

Conchita Wurst

The Eurovision star grabbed all the headlines not just because of her beard – Hollywood was not expecting that – but because of that stunning green velvet dress.

Jennifer Lopez

Maybe it’s a little bit too dramatic. Maybe it’s a little bit too reliant on tit tape. Or maybe it’s perfect. We all bow down to JLo.

Lena Dunham

We like Lena Dunham, we really do, but the girl shows up to formal events like she’s dressing for a debs in 1993 Mullingar.

Diane Kruger and Pacey AKA Joshua Jackson

How perfect can a couple be?

Dakota Johnson versus Julianne Moore

The Fifty Shades star is working Chanel while Julianne Moore, and Best Actress winner, is all about Givenchy. Who reigned triumphant in chainmail? We’re calling this one a tie.
