We have all the fashion from the 24th Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) red carpet!

The awards took place last night in Hollywood and are the first major event since the Golden Globes, which saw many celebrities take part in a sartorial protest against sexual assault and to honour the #TimesUp movement. Unlike the Golden Globes, last night’s event was awash with colour. Despite this, however, the agenda is still very much focused on the Time’s Up movement, and many actors opted to wear their Time’s Up pin as a continued mark of solidarity toward the cause.

Showstoppers on the night included Lupita Nyong’o in a stunning shimmering Ralph & Russo gown (that looks like a real-life Kirakira app), Mary J. Blige in an elegant one-shouldered Jean Louis Sabaj gown and, of course, Saoirse Ronan in a stunning power pink Louis Vuitton romanesque-style gown. Younger attendees Millie Bobby Brown and Sadie Sink kept things age-appropriate with cool footwear, cute hem-lengths and soft colours.

We’re getting closer and closer to the main awards event – the Oscars – but the big thing about the SAG Awards is that they are the only major film and TV awards show to be helmed by women (and have been for over 10 years), and they’re the only awards show to recognise actors exclusively, so there are no obscure or technical categories or any of that jazz; it’s all about the performances.

Big winners on the night included Frances McDormand for her outstanding performance in Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri, Allison Janney in I, Tonya, Nicole Kidman in Big Little Lies, Claire Foy in The Crown and Gary Oldman for his performance as Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour.

With just over a month to go until the Oscars, Hollywoods leading ladies showed no sign of red-carpet fatigue. Check out the gallery above to see the best show-stopping gowns.
