Fashion Labels You May Have Forgotten About But Shouldn’t

Fashion Labels You May Have Forgotten About But Shouldn’t

It’s easy to focus your shopping on trend-embracing brands such as Zara and Mango, but there’s a few long-standing fashion labels that offer quality classics and forever pieces that are equally important in creating a beautifully curated wardrobe. Here are three brands you may have forgotten about but which should be back on your radar.

Uniqlo

My email is regularly peppered with messages from Uniqlo, but it’s only since they collaborated with JW Anderson that I’ve started to pay attention. What I’ve realised is that they offer terrific basics at a great price (cheaper than Zara for the most part), plus I recently met a stylist who was wearing a pair of culottes from Uniqlo, which she bought several years and still loves. They’ve survived hundreds of machine washes, she told me, and look none the worse for it.

Cotton striped shirtdress, €39.90

Gant

My vision of Gant has always been of a Tommy Hilfiger-style brand full of preppy separates. But they also offer a line of quality workwear pieces in contemporary cuts. I love this green trouser suit. The colour is season-less so it will freshen up your spring workwear, but the shade also has enough depth to wear in winter. Pair with earthier shades on darker days and crisp whites now that the weeks are brightening up.

Benetton

Long floral dress, €89.95

There’s a lot more to Benetton than coloured sweaters. At this of year, the stores a flooded with floral dresses, and they’re always something I refuse to buy in trend-led high street stores as you’re bound to see somebody else wearing the same one. Benetton is not somewhere I’d think to shop for a fluid, print dress, but yet here is a really pretty option with beautiful detailing at the waist, sleeves and knees.
