21 functional but fashionable boots to shop in time for festival season

Ask any Irish festival veteran and they’ll tell you that your choice of footwear is as important as knowing the line-up. So, it’s just as well we took a look your best footwear options

These boots were made for…. stomping, dancing, moshing, gallivanting, raving – and everything else in between.

Festival season officially kicks off this weekend at the annual Forbidden Fruit knees-up, with revelers diving head-first into a house-heavy lineup including Paul Kalkbrenner, Mura Masa, Peggy Gou, Maribou State – and even a ‘Bingo Loco Rave Round’ if they’re not dizzy from the beats already.

Ask any Irish festival veteran and they’ll tell you that your choice of footwear is as important as knowing what act is playing when. Girls teetering about Coachella in heels? This ain’t it.

A solid pair of reliable boots will get see you from dawn ’til dusk. Whether your go-to festival look is jeans and a band tee or something more adventurous, chose your shoes with practicality in mind.

While top marks are awarded for any brave souls who try to take the chic > comfort route; this is Ireland after all, so a waterproof option (leather, croc-effect, rubber) is as crucial as nabbing an Access All Areas pass.
