The best dressed from the IMAGE Beauty Festival

The best dressed from the IMAGE Beauty Festival

It may have been a weekend dedicated to beauty but the IMAGE Beauty Festival had some big fashion moments too. Here are our favourite outfits…

While it may have been a weekend about beauty, the fashion stakes were high at the IMAGE Beauty Festival too.

Fashion and beauty go hand in hand. From the catwalks to the red carpet to everyday life-they complement each other. So it was no surprise when we quickly realised that the festival was turning into a full-blown fashion show in our very own arena.

The thing about Irish women is we can do glamour like no other. We have quiet confidence when it comes to our clothes and this radiated from every woman in every age group throughout the two days.

From dresses to power blazers to flower power flares, these women (and men) seriously impressed. And it wasn’t just the attendees who caught our fashion hawk eyes, the speakers did so too.

Which is why we felt it was only right to document the sartorial highlights of the weekend in the midst of all the beauty madness.

@jbgoodtome and @mary_dunne1

Prints might make some squeamish, but when done right they need to be awarded applause. Jan Brierton and Mary Dunne have done them to perfection. The wonderfully eccentric print of Jan’s trousers is calmed by her choice of a plain baby blue shirt while her unexpected red lip gives an extra layer to the look. Mary’s trench coat is a dream and I want it now. The hint of yellow peeking through brightens the outfit and her frayed hem jeans make it instantly cool. And we must also raise a glass to both ladies wearing white ankle boots without fear.

@rosie.kirk_makeupartist & @grainne.phillipsmakeupartist

Rosie Kirk and Grainne Phillips turned heads throughout the day on Sunday. Rosie’s tiered floral trousers from Zara were a standout and I loved that she paired them with a metallic leather jacket instead of muting the other elements of the outfit like many would. Grainne’s pink gingham suit is an example of classic tailoring with a twist. Her nude heels and white top meant she let the suit do the talking on its own.

Amber Sherlock

This ASOS number is the perfect example of how a midi dress can be dressed up or down. The classic shape and colorway mean it would be the perfect wedding guest outfit of choice but Amber has made it look modern and street style appropriate by pairing it with Nike trainers and a polka dot hair accessory.

Patrick Ta and Holly O’ Neill

We couldn’t have a best-dressed list without mentioning some of our very own IMAGE staff. And junior beauty editor Holly O’ Neill was the epitome of power dressing on day 2 of the beauty festival in her pastel blue suit which she complemented with statement earrings and diamonte encrusted mules.

Not only is he a master of makeup but Mr. Patrick Ta knows how to master a blush pink suit too. Perfectly oversized without drowning him the suit is the right amount of 1980’s nostalgia, while his Balenciaga trainers help to keep it modern and fresh.

Vogue Williams

Vogue Williams is a pro at midi dresses, and her ensemble at the IMAGE Beauty Fest was no different. An emerald green floral midi with a pussy-bow blouse and paired with white trainers was one of the standouts on Saturday’s line up.

Darren Kennedy

It wasn’t just the women who brought style to the festival, the men were represented too. Darren Kennedy always looks sharp and his dark denim jeans with doc martens and abstract print shirt was a dream for those who love casual looks.

Melanie Morris & Triona McCarthy

Melanie Morris, IMAGE Contributing Editor, and MC for the weekend on the Samsung stage wowed in a psychedellic pink printed Joanne Hynes number. She expertly matched the dress with a pair of star print trainers keeping the fun element of the outfit. The queen officially entered the building when Triona McCarthy entered the Point Square on Saturday. Dressed in an iridescent sequinned jumpsuit, the beauty guru was the chicest disco diva we had ever seen.

Niamh O’ Donoghue and Nadine Reid

These two very inspirational ladies gave us serious midi skirt envy before their talk on Saturday. Never afraid to take a risk, Niamh O’Donoghue stunned in an animal print number from Om Diva with hat and platform heels to match. Nadine’s teal tutu style skirt was matched beautifully with red ankle boots and an off the shoulder floral top. And as I love a good gold hoop, she gets top marks.

Megan O’ Loughlin

An all-black outfit will never go out of style and Megan’s outfit is a testament to that. The leather pants matched with her frill detail top is effortless chic. And the cinched in waist and nude accessories bring some extra interest to the look.

James Patrice

We like a man who loves a blazer, but we love a man who adores a printed version. James let his leaf print version do all the work by keeping the rest of his outfit sleek and clean with black jeans and brogues.

Louise Slyth

Louise’s blue floral print midi dress with asymmetric hem is a summer saviour, particularly when the weather is going through this in-between phase. Her navy ankle boots are a nice change to the usual black equivalent and her red lip makes for a lovely contrast to the blue tones.

Anna Marino

We love monochrome here at IMAGE HQ and Anna’s take on the trend is both cool and relaxed at the same time. Her oversized shirt is a wardrobe staple but her torn effect leggings help to update and modernize the look.

Nadia El Ferdaoussi

Nadia’s travels make us a little jealous in the office but we think her dress is beginning to do that too. The baby blue floral midi dress flatters her shape to perfection and the colour is stunning against her bronzed skin and dark hair. All the while her shell ankle bracelet makes us want to book a holiday.

Ciara Cosgrove and Clodagh Edwards

Director of Events and the mastermind behind the IMAGE Beauty Festival Ciara Cosgrove looked every inch the powerhouse in a silver metallic Zara blazer. While IMAGE’s CEO Clodagh Edwards monochrome animal print mini dress was one we all wanted to covet.
