3 Gorgeous Puffa Jackets

Designers like to take a trend to the nth degree, so this season you may find yourself enthralled by, not only underwear as outerwear, but duvet dressing. In its most elaborate form I'm referring to Alexander McQueen's oversized, padded, floral-embroidered capes that look to all intents and purposes like my mother's favourite eiderdown draped over the shoulders of an ethereal looking model. This dreamy look has been diluted down into a more wearable guise for the high street, however, and the end result is in essence a puffa jacket. Less utilitarian and more cosy chic than in the past, this season's puffas are textured and detailed. Here are three of the best on the high street.

I'm not a pink person, but I fell for this River Island jacket as soon as I felt the cosy faux fur lined hood and inside lining. This shade of pink is closer to blush, which is more versatile and flattering, so more enticing to me. I'd pair it with something really smart like an asymmetric midi skirt and ankle boots.

I?love the mixi of utilitarianism and glamour of this Zara jacket. I'd pair this with something really textured, like a cashmere knit, or maybe a lace skirt for a total contrast.

The shade of this longer-length quilted coat is so flattering to Irish skin tones, plus the metallic sheen makes it suitable for evening as well as daywear. I think this would look so chic thrown over a wide-leg jumpsuit for an evening out. Mixing day and evening wear can really add punctuation to an outfit, and personality.
