3 Irish design launches that you can support in plenty of time for Christmas

Looking to stock up on your Christmas presents early? These Irish designer’s new wares are a fantastic way to support local

This year has really hit home in the importance of supporting Irish businesses. No one knows what the future holds for our local economy, but we do know it’s going to be difficult – which is why it’s essential that, where possible, we all make a real effort in the coming months to choose where our money goes wisely.

If you’ve got a fashion lover in your life that you need to buy for (even if that fashion lover is you), then this week is yours to stock up for Christmas. There have been three fantastic fashion line launches from brilliant Irish designers this week that we are so excited about. Scope them out, make your lists and get your presents in early – something tells us they won’t be in stock for long.

KDK

Irish brand KDK launched their AW season line this week, with beautiful silk sleepwear, scarves and headbands, as well as vegan leather pouches for all your self-care needs this winter. Led by sisters Dairine and Keira Kennedy, the latest Dreamer collection is inspired by those lazy Sunday morning lounging on the couch (something we can definitely all get behind). Co-founder Keira commented that the latest collection is pared-back and considered, adding “We are responding to feedback from our customers who want to make more meaningful and considered purchases.  There is an awareness for supporting Irish brands that have an emphasis on quality and luxury, which we really appreciate.”

Nicki Hoyne

Jack-of-all-trades Nicki Hoyne is the mastermind behind My Shining Armour, and now, has lent her hand to a new line of statement handbags. Six vibrant camera bags in bold colourways (if I’m on anyone’s Christmas list, the leopard print is definitely a bit of me), all made with sustainability in mind – both in production and also in materials, with the bags lined in recycled cotton and made from butter soft leather. Available for pre-order now.

Zoë Carol

Zoë Carol’s truly special nine-piece collection launched this week, and we are so excited to wear it all winter long. Crafted in Kilkenny with Emblem Weavers Irish Linen, the line is truly made with sustainability and slow fashion in mind. The linen and hand-knitted Irish wool pieces are made to order, in an effort to reduce waste and respond to the call from customers for more ethical options for their wardrobes. The beautiful shots were also completed with an all-female team, which is a beautiful touch.
