17 saviour ‘wear-with-anything’ pieces you can buy right now

17 saviour ‘wear-with-anything’ pieces you can buy right now

The idea of basics is actually quite basic, which is why we believe in ‘wear-with-anything’ pieces. Here are 17 we love . . .

Dressing oneself can be quite the minefield. It’s the constant struggle between wanting to look French, nonchalant and unique at the same time.

A lot of this comes down to mindset and attitude. If you think you’re cool and chic, more than likely you are going to look cool and chic. Although I have attempted this ‘what you think you become’ thought process before and it hasn’t quite worked in my favour. Usually, I end up looking too “put together” and forced and simply the furthest thing away from being cool and chic.

Wear-with-anything pieces are our saviours.  These are the items which you don’t even have to think about. They sit in your wardrobe waiting for their moment to pounce and shine – which is mostly every day.

An oversized blazer, a good pair of sunglasses and a classic bag are three of the best ways you can emulate the ‘I barely tried’ look. Throw in a cool t-shirt, flattering jeans, trainers, boots, dress and the odd jumper and you are set. Basically, any item you can pair as much as possible.

Nothing basic about these pieces

I tend to loathe the word basics. To me, the basics are subjective. A black jumper might be like air to one person but poison to another.

Wear-with-anything pieces often have a point of difference. There might be a subtle floral print like on this Asos number or a subtle frill. These pieces might not be your usual plain basic but the point is they can be worn with trainers, heels, boots, blazers and everything in between.

With the focus of our shopping moving towards a more considered approach, the idea of wear-with-anything pieces has never been more important. As shoppers, we are becoming aware of our carbon footprint. Shopping is no longer based around the latest trend or fad, consumers want longevity from their purchases. These pieces have to work with our wardrobes, not against.

Wear-with-anything pieces will help you become the chic and cool person you think you want to be.

And there is nothing basic about that.
